A Comparative Study on the Identity Construction of New Energy Enterprises Between China and the United States Based on Discourse Historical Approach

Up against climate change, the identity construction and corporate social responsibility of new energy enterprises are great strategic significance to reputation competitiveness. Taking reports BYD Tesla from 2018 2022 as corpus, this study takes Discourse-Historical Approach (DHA) a theoretical framework analyze Chinese American context behind them. It is found that both have constructed identities “smart car provider”, “faithful environmentalist”, “zealous globalist” based on contexts China America. Due differences between two cultures, won good by building “social-oriented contributor” “self-oriented respectively. This not only provides reference for in-depth discourse construction, but also guides foreign construct through reports.
